Life with Vicky D

There’s food. There’s fitness, and well, there’s everything else. That dear friends is called LIFE. Sometimes it’s blissful. Sometimes it’s just gut wrenching. But either way, we’re going to not only survive, but THRIVE. This blog is actually a resurrection of a project that I started years and years ago - Vicky D’s Delights. Over time, what was supposed to an outlet to share my passions for food and healthy lifestyle quickly became an online diary of emotional vomit. Sorry for the visual, but that’s really what it was.

Sure, I was still smiling on the outside.

But honestly, I think I was sad. Why? Simply put, I craved perfection. I wanted to be perfect – perfect job, perfect family, perfect body, perfect income, perfect car, perfect relationship and eventually the perfect home. To be honest, I felt like everyone else around had it easier than me. We’ll talk about how much comparison is a waste of your time and energy a lot here on the blog because it’s a hot button topic that is so unhealthy.

Oh, how young and naive I was.

Perfection just isn’t possible. I was blessed in more ways than I ever understood with the life Victoria is supposed to have. There was no use in wishing to have someone else’s life, for nothing is ever what it seems. And frankly, I watched too many episodes of Sex & the City and Girlfriends.

What’s in store…

So, like I originally intended, I’m going to use this space to really focus on the things that bring me joy in the hopes that maybe you’ll find something that makes you smile as well. Everything from fun beauty trends, because BOLD lipsticks are EVERYTHING and I need to keep these curls poppin’, to affordable fashion and fun DIY trends for the home, to finding balance as a wife/daughter/sister/friend/#GIRLBOSS.

I’m not an expert or a guru. I’m just an everyday woman who gets it, appreciates transparency in a filtered world and wants to help other queens keep their crowns straight.

This is what makes me happy. That’s all that matters.

You still there? Good. Now let’s live our best life.
